Dear Friends,
It’s that time of the year again and love is in the air! Not so much in my home, but I’m sure it’s swirling around somewhere. LOL. February has always been an off month for me. It’s too early to start gardening and the aftermath of the holidays have been boxed up and put away. Things are quiet, cold and stagnant. This month’s focus for me and the farm is moving forward and comfort.

I’ll try to start some seedlings in the pantry room. I don’t have much room for that, but I’ll see if I can get a few things going. I think I’ll also put some flower bulbs in the ground as well. I’m getting through A LOT of organizing and deep cleaning. Reorganizing sock draws, cleaning out the fridge, folding fitted sheets like a wizard! Starched and ironed sheets are a most beloved and harmless decadence of mine.
I always keep flowers and plants everywhere in the house. I also use evergreen clippings in the winter. I am a person who needs to keep her house’s Juju happy. Old homes hold many memories, good and bad. I have a check list for keeping the house in good spiritual order and fine comfort.

Recipe for Good Energy in the Home:
Honey wax candles
Fresh herbs
Lavender oil
Flowers
Greens/cuttings
Citrus candles
Music
Fire in the hearth
Oil Lamps
Bubble Baths
Children’s art
My ewes are all pregnant (I’m pretty sure) and should be lambing in late April and early May. It will be amazing to see all these babies in my pasture! I’m constructing a new chicken coup in the barn and hopefully ordering new chickens by the end of the month. So much going on!!!!
As for the rest of the month it will be soft slippers and warm shawls. I will move forward meaningfully and let the month play out its neutrality between winter and spring. I will wrap myself in the comfort of my blankets and play music hoping to appease the spirits who dwell here with me. I’ll cuddle with my tiny herd of cats, rest and clean.
I have such big plans for the farm, from outdoor date nights with customized menus, guided wine tasting with a sommelier to Glamping overnight near a waterfall! So much more to come! I will keep you all up to date on availability and all the goings on.
Thank You Friends,
Denise M. Leon
